Mary Gayle Adams

Mary Gayle Adams (nee Wynkoop), 79, of Shippensburg, PA, departed this life on the morning of Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at the Chambersburg Hospital. She was born on March 8, 1945, in Washington, DC, the daughter of the late Roy Wynkoop and Mary (nee Ballard) Wynkoop.

Mary graduated from Furman University in 1966 with a degree in elementary education and a minor in Spanish.  She taught first grade for many years before transitioning to primarily being a homemaker.  Mary was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring in Chambersburg, PA.  

Mary's passion in life was to provide a home and family for children in need.  She served as an adoption advocate at Adopt America Network, where she helped place children in need with loving families.  She also adopted and cared for many children throughout her life.

Mary's final arrangements have been entrusted to Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc. Shippensburg.  Per her request, a private memorial service will be held for the family, and there will be no public service, viewing, or visitation.
