Martha Suders

Martha Susan Whaler Suders, 86 of West Orange Street, Shippensburg, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born April 14, 1924 in Wrightsville, PA, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Annie Tome Whaler.
Martha worked as a seamstress at the former Penn Pants and L’agilon Company both in Shippensburg and later worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Forest Park Nursing Home in Carlisle. She loved spending time with her family, liked crocheting, watching Law and Order and playing BINGO.
She was the last of her generation and was very proud of the fact that her father served in the Spanish American War with Theodore Roosevelt.
Surviving are four sons; Lester E., Mercersburg, Robert R. and his wife Prudence, Carlisle, Jeffrey L. and his wife Sheila and James D. Suders and his wife Patricia all of Shippensburg, one daughter; Kathleen M. Helm and her husband Charles, Mainsville and a daughter in –law Darlene Suders, Roxbury, ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Suders Sr. who died March 8, 1992 and a son John M. Suders Jr. who died May 28, 1996.
Services will be held Saturday December 4, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the funeral home.
