Martha Reese

Martha A. Reese, 94, of Shippensburg, died on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at her residence, with her family by her side. Born on January 13, 1916, in Newburg, PA, the daughter of the late Daisy Rhoades. On December 12, 1935, at the Dickinson Presbyterian Church, Martha married Mr. Marion H. Reese. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1959. Martha and Marion owned and operated the Mt. Rock Tourist Cabins, prior to his passing. She then went on to work as a seamstress, at the many local textile companies, retiring from the R & S Sewing Factory, in 1985. Martha was very devoted to her family. They were the main priority in her life.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia A. (Larry) Bishop of Shippensburg, Donna L. Reese of Shippensburg, and Barbara J. Killian of Shippensburg; six grandchildren, Sonya (Rick) Miller of Elizabethtown, Larry Reese of Chambersburg, Deborah (Kirk) Naugle of Shippensburg, Michael Bishop of Shippensburg, Kevin (Jennifer) Killian of Shippensburg, and Tonia Killian of Shippensburg; and ten great grandchildren, Kyler, Joshua, Benjamin, DeAnna, Laura, Sara, Blake, Logan, Laurell, and Jaden. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, and daughter-in-law, Richard A. and Evelyn “Corky” Reese. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2010 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Gary L. Culler will officiate. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services, at the funeral home, on Friday.
