Martha Muhs

Martha Ann Muhs, 72, of Shippensburg, died on the morning of Wednesday, October 16, 2013.

She was born on July 11, 1941, in Hagerstown, MD, the daughter of the late Karl and Bernice Barron Stoner.

Years ago, Martha was employed at the former Stanley Co., Chambersburg and had also worked in Food Service for the Chambersburg Area School District. Martha was a member of the Shippensburg Christian Fellowship Church and liked to quilt in her free time.

She is survived by two sons, Karl “Fred” (Beth) Muhs of NY and James L. (Vicky) Muhs of Williamsport; one daughter, Elizabeth D. Muhs of Shippensburg; two brothers, David and Allen Stoner; six grandsons; two granddaughters; and five great granddaughters.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Muhs, II, who died on February 15, 2008, one son, William B. Muhs, who died on February 2, 1970, and a granddaughter, Jennie Muhs.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, October 21, 2013, at the Shippensburg Christian Fellowship Church, with the Church Ministry officiating. Interment will occur at 2:00 p.m., in the Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD. Viewing will be Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday, at the church.
