Martha Rae Kirby, 67, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the evening of Thursday, December 8, 2022, at her home.
She was born on April 26, 1955, in Shippensburg, a daughter of Mary “Susie” (Helm) Suders and the late Chester Bruce Suders. She married Kelly Kirby, Jr., in 1971.
Martha retired from Sheetz after over twenty years of employment. When she wasn’t working, Martha was pretty much a homebody who enjoyed going to yard sales and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of fifty one years, Kelly, she is survived by two sons, Larry Kirby and wife Claudia and Edward Kirby, both of Shippensburg; step-daughter, Kimberly Varner and husband Merle of Shippensburg; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; one great granddaughter; four brothers; three sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, Martha was preceded in death by a brother.
The Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg, has been entrusted with her funeral arrangements. Abiding by Martha’s wishes, there will be no public viewing, visitation, or funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, consider donating to the American Cancer Society in Martha’s memory.
