Martha L. Reed Baer, 85, of Lurgan, died on the morning of Monday, February 17, 2014, at the Shippensburg Health Care Center.
She was born on July 13, 1928, in Newburg, a daughter of the late Murray and Ada I. Fegan Whisler.
Martha was employed in Maintenance at the Letterkenny Army Depot, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Lurgan United Brethren Church. Martha really enjoyed being outdoors doing yard work and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Earl H. Baer; three sons, Stephen H. (Daria) Reed of Gettysburg, Gary R. (Rose) Reed of Chambersburg, and Charles D. (Carol) Reed of Orrstown; four step-children, Judith K. (James) Wenger of Shippensburg, Constance L. Blackhurst of Shippensburg, Bruce H. (Gerry) Baer of Willow Hill, and Deirdra A. (Kenny) Nehf of Shippensburg; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold F. Reed, who died on November 1, 1985; four sisters, Dorothy Kane, Catherine Baer, Thelma Bowermaster, and Janet Laidig; and one brother, Ken Whisler.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, February 21, 2014, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. James O. Bolich will officiate. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
