Martha “Phyllis” Alleman, 88, of Shippensburg, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 15, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born December 18, 1928 in Leesburg, PA. Phyllis was a daughter of the late John and Ethel Frehn Reese.
She was a member of the Cleversburg United Methodist Church and sang in their choir for over 50 years. Years ago Phyllis worked at the former L’Aiglon Clothing Company in Shippensburg. Phyllis was a Saint in her family’s eyes.
She is survived by her husband, Robert D. Alleman, five children, Sherry Wenger, Carol Helm, Dean (Ellen) Gutshall, Beverly (Ron) Myers and Angela Barmont, seven grandchildren, Dawn (Mike) Osterman, Shawn Wenger, Greg Helm, Adam (Christina) and Alan Gutshall, Robyn (Brian) Foster and Samantha Barmont, eleven great-grandchildren, Rylee, Eyan, Shain, Caden, Marshall, Ava, Emmitt, Hayley, Olivia, Noah and Hayden, one brother, Harry “Ellis” Reese and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and John Reese and two sisters, Betty Coleman and Nancy Eibel.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 in the Cleversburg United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Barbara A. Servello. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg and one hour prior to the services at church.
