Marie Eckenrode

December 4, 1930 — July 14, 2024

Marie B. (Stevens) Eckenrode, 93, of Newville, passed away the evening of Sunday, July 14, 2024 at the UPMC Carlisle Hospital.

She was born on Thursday, December 4, 1930 in Carlisle, a daughter of the late Earl and Cula (Byers) Eckenrode.

Marie was a graduate of the Carlisle High School. She enjoyed embroidering and completing crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia M. Fisher and her husband Paul of Newville; one niece, Cathy Beam and her husband Terry of Chambersburg; one sister, Nancy Lee Stevens of Mechanicsburg; and special friend, Bill Doyle of Newville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Eckenrode, who passed away on August 12, 2015.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. Pastor William Kauffman will officiate. There will be no public viewing or visitation.
