Margaret K. Sheaffer, 93, of Shippensburg, died on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the Shippensburg Health Care Center.
Born on January 23, 1917, in New Franklin, PA, a daughter of the late Harvey L. and Araminta Helman Burkholder.
Margaret was employed as a seamstress at the former U-Wanna-Wash Frock Co. and retired from the former L’Aiglon Co.
She was a member of the Durff-Kuhn V.F.W. Post #6168 Ladies Auxiliary, liked to sew and make quilts, and loved flowers.
Margaret is survived by her brother, Robert P. (Christine) Carbaugh, Jr. of Shippensburg, two nieces; Cindy (Dean) Lengel of Mechanicsburg and Bobbie (John Phillips) Bailey of Carlisle, two nephews; Robert A. Carbaugh and Edward Sheaffer, both of Shippensburg, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank B. Sheaffer, who died on October 20, 1990, two brothers; Harvey and Orville Burkholder, and one sister, Bessie Helm.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. Burial will be in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
