Margaret C. “Peg” Seavers, 95, of Shippensburg, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 in The Shook Home, Chambersburg.
She was born December 29, 1917 in Shippensburg, Franklin County. Peg was a daughter of the late Dewey and Myra Swanger Cressler.
Peg retired from L’Aiglon in Shippensburg where she was a seamstress. She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Shippensburg and their FaHoLo Sunday School Class, WELCA, and was on the Alter Guild. Peg was a member of the Fort Morris Chapter AARP and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168 where she was a past President. She was a 1936 graduate of the former Shippensburg High School and enjoyed traveling, gardening, and sewing.
In addition to her parents, Peg was preceded in death by her husband William G. Seavers who died June 4, 1988, a son W. Stephen Seavers who died February 21, 1972 and a sister Janet C. Seibert.
She is survived by one daughter, Jane S. Motter and her companion Glenn Bender of Shippensburg, three sisters, Dorothy J. Cressler and Nancy C. (Ralph) Thompson all of Shippensburg, and Betty Jean Seibert of Carlisle.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Memorial Lutheran Church, Shippensburg. Officiating will be The Rev. Dr. Brenda J. Kiser. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday one hour prior to the services in church.
