Margaret Ruth “Peg” Laughman Harris Greenawalt
1932 ~ 2010
Margaret Ruth Greenawalt, 78, of Shippensburg, took the journey to eternity, surrounded by her husband and family at her home, on Sunday, May 23, 2010.
Born on March 28, 1932, in Goodyear, PA, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Kathryn Vanasdalin Laughman.
On April 26, 1978, Margaret married Mr. Richard R. Greenawalt in Horse Valley, PA.
Margaret was employed, as a seamstress, at the former Marden Clothing Co., Shippensburg for twenty years. After that, she worked for the former Revco., Shippensburg, for a period of time.
She was a member of the Blue Mountain Assembly of God, a collector of porcelain angels and lighthouses, liked to sew, read, and build puzzles, and earlier in life was a cub scout den mother.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 32 years, Richard R. Greenawalt; five children, Darlene Ann (Harris-Alleman) Byers, Diana Cynthia (Harris) Fetterhoff and husband Rusty, James Curvin Harris and wife Tena, David Frank Greenawalt and wife Patricia, and Donna Jean Greenawalt; ten grandchildren; twenty –two great grandchildren, and one more great grandson on the way; two brothers, Jack & Robert Laughman; and one sister, Kathryn Bitner.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Mark A. Clark will officiate. Burial will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. Viewing will be Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
