Margaret M. Baker

Margaret M. Baker, 99, of Shippensburg, passed away the morning of Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Paramount Senior Living Chambersburg.

She was born on April 14, 1925, the daughter of the late Earl J. and Fannie Geist Minnich Cline, Sr.

Margaret retired from Shippensburg University as a secretary. She was a longtime member of the Mt. Pleasant Church where she taught children in Sunday School for over 53 years. Margaret was an avid gardener who loved cooking, canning, and sewing. 

She is survived by her son, Jerry M. Baker of Shippensburg; granddaughter, Stephanie Baker of Tampa, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, G. Melvin Baker, who passed away on June 12, 2021. She was also preceded in death by four brothers. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Church, 2509 Black Gap Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor Jim Bolich officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
