Margaret A. “Peg” Angle, 99, a resident of Elmcroft of Shippensburg, formerly of Chambersburg, departed this life on the afternoon of Saturday, January 27, 2018.
She was born on November 9, 1918, in Upper Strasburg, a daughter of the late Grant U. and Mabel Burket Rosenberry and married Eber B. Angle on May of 1939. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2000.
Margaret was employed as a seamstress at the former Shirt Craft Co., Shippensburg, and also at the former Stanley Co., Chambersburg, from where she retired after twenty-five years of work.
She was a long-time member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church, Upper Strasburg, and also the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orrstown. In her leisure time Margaret enjoyed cooking, crafting, shopping with friends, and traveling with her late husband. Time spent with her family was always very important and something that Margaret cherished very much.
She is survived by one son, Edward B. Angle of Chambersburg; her daughter, Kathryn L. (Anthony, Sr.) Johnson of Upper Strasburg; five grandchildren, Anthony (Kimberly) Johnson, Jr. of Newburg, Edward (Stephanie) Johnson of Scotland, Bryan (Kendra) Angle of Fayetteville, Timothy Angle of Chambersburg, and Melissa (Dana) Claggett of Fayetteville; three step-grandchildren; and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband of sixty-one years, Margaret was preceded in death by one son, Jack; brother, Robert; sister, Doris; and great granddaughter, Brandy.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, February 2, 2018, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orrstown. Vicar Kali St-Wyatt and Vicar Aaron Smith will officiate. Interment, in the Emanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, will be private. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
