Mabel C. Baer, 94, of Newburg, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 in the Episcopal Home, Shippensburg.
Born Sunday, September 15, 1918 in Roxbury, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Catherine Mackey Stamey.
Mabel was a member of the Upper Strasburg Church of God where she loved to volunteer. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Surviving is one son, Harold E. Baer, Jr., and his wife Janice of Lurgan; three daughters, Mary C. Becraft and her husband, Frank, of Carlisle, Diana L. Ferrell and her husband Charles of Chambersburg and R. Kay Fauver and her husband Terry of Newburg; one half brother, Gerald Hamilton of Chambersburg, one step sister, Mildred Hamilton of Pasadena, CA; eight grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, twelve great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five step brothers and sisters, four half brothers, one half sister, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 17, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Upper Strasburg Church of God, with the Rev. Keith R. Bell and the Rev. Caroline J. Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hall Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. and one hour prior to the service on Friday in the church.
