M. Luella “Toots” Flowers, 94, a resident of the Shippensburg Health Care Center, died on the morning of Monday, December 1, 2014.
She was born on August 27, 1920, in Harrisburg, a daughter of the late Lyman and Ella B. High Myers. Toots married Paul D. Flowers in November of 1947 in Harrisburg, PA. He preceded her in death in May of 1984.
Toots was an Accountant, employed at the New Cumberland Army Depot for twenty years, retiring in 1985. She was of the Methodist faith, attending several different churches over the years. Toots had great affection for dogs and horses, which she passed on to her two daughters.
She is survived by two daughters, Marylue (Ron Nickey) Durff of Shippensburg and Paulette (C.G.) Schwoebel of Cibolo, TX; one granddaughter, Joy (Tim) Emrick of Manassa, VA; two great grandchildren, Savannah and Dalton Emrick of Manassa, VA; and one niece, Shirley Aumiller of Beavertown.
In addition to her parents and husband, Toots was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Durff; two brothers; and two sisters.
Her funeral services and interment will be private. There will be no public viewing or visitation.
