Lucille A. Traxler Rosenberry, 90, of Fannettsburg, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2014 at Hershey Medical Center, with family by her side.
She was born on September 21, 1924 in Chambersburg to the late Harvey A. and Grace North Traxler.
Lucille spent her childhood years in Northern Pennsylvania and New Jersey due to the fact that her father was a pole setter and lineman for the American Telephone and Telegraph Company. She would return to Path Valley and spend her summers with her numerous cousins, whom she loved so much.
She was a 1942 graduate of Weehawken High School in Weehawken, NJ. Upon graduation, she honored her father’s wishes and turned down a modeling job with an advertising agency in New York City. Lucille returned to PA and took the Civil Service exam. She was offered jobs at Fairchild Aircraft Industries and Letterkenny Army Depot. She accepted a job at Letterkenny and was employed there from 1942-1952 until she started raising a family with her late husband, Glenn C. Rosenberry.
Lucille was a member of the Lower Path Valley Presbyterian Church for 66 years, where she served as a Sunday School Superintendent and taught Sunday School for 30 years, and was a Girl Scout leader for more than 12 years. Lucille had a passion for driving and traveling and always said her trips to the ocean were her favorite. She was an avid reader all her life and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lucille is survived by her three sons, Gary T. (wife Sandy), Gregory (wife Denise), and Gardner (Fiancé Annette), all of Fannettsburg; three grandchildren, Stacey (husband Larry) Brady, Troy (wife Sue) Rosenberry, and Connor Rosenberry; and six great-grandchildren, Brady, Christopher, Katelyn, Sawyer, Levi, and Logan. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Glenn C. Rosenberry, whom she married on July 4, 1946, and an infant sister Mary.
