Louise Pisle, 93, of Shippensburg passed away peacefully on the evening of Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the Orrstown Personal Care Home, surrounded by her family.
She was born on December 17, 1930, in Newville, the daughter of the late Floyd L. and Pearl (Gilbert) Mowers. She was married sixty-six years to Elwood J. Pisle who preceded her in death on October 18, 2017.
Louise was a 1949 graduate of Shippensburg High School and a longtime member of the Prince Street United Brethren Church.
Louise always loved flowers and was known for her green thumb and her beautiful flower gardens. She was an excellent homemaker and cook; her family has fond memories of the many delicious meals she prepared for them. Louise was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Louise is survived by three daughters, Sandy Brown and husband Clyde of Arizona, Susan Fickes and husband Robert of Shippensburg, and Sally Evans and husband Brian of Shippensburg; one son, Scott Pisle and wife Rebecca of South Dakota; eight grandchildren, Jason, Nathan, Carmen, Adam, Megan, Justin, John, and Ethan; eleven great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter, Miley, whose visits this past year brought her much happiness; two sisters, Dorothy Mull of Arizona, and Millie Koser of Shippensburg; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by three brothers, Glenn, Floyd, and Howard Mowers; and one sister, Emma Faye Dice.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, November 1, 2024, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor John Shadle will officiate. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. There will be no public viewing.
The Pisle family would like to thank Elaine, Carly, and the entire staff at the Orrstown Personal Care Home for their excellent and loving care of our mother; Bryson for his kindness and special friendship to Louise; and to the Residential Hospice team for their great care, with special thanks to hospice nurse Ruth Garling for her attentive care to Louise and her guidance and kindness to our family during this past year.
