Louise E. Lynch, 82, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the evening of Saturday, July 22, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 7, 1934, in Shippensburg, a daughter of the late Harry D. and Dorothy E. Bailey Henderson. Louise married Leroy Lynch on April 7, 1956. He preceded her in death on November 17, 2009.
Louise worked for many years, as a sewer, at C.H. Masland, Carlisle, from where she retired. Earlier in life, Louise owned and operated Lynch’s Silver Spring Restaurant.
She was a life member of the Durff-Kuhn V.F.W. Post 6168 Auxilliary, Shippensburg, and a member of the Amvets Post # 172, Fairfield. In her free time Louise enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, and traveling to Atlantic City, Las Vegas, and New York and that one cruise to the Bahamas.
Louise is survived by four children, Leroy ‘Butch” Lynch, Jr., of Shippensburg, Kimberly L. Ott of Gettysburg, Teresa R. O’Donnell of Shippensburg, and Larry E. “Buck” Lynch of Shippensburg; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; three brothers, Harry, John, and Richard Henderson; three sisters, Josephine Weaver, Beverly Foltz, and Dorothy ‘Dottie Ann” Monn; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by on brother, William Henderson and one sister, Margaret “Peg” Gipe.
Her graveside funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held privately, for her immediate family.
