Louise M. Hoover, 95, of Newburg, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Green Ridge Village, Newville.
Born Thursday, March 20, 1930 in Shade Gap, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Mary Effie Greager McMullen.
She worked as a seamstress at the former L’Aiglon Sewing Factory. She was a member of the Newburg United Methodist Church, and volunteered with the Church’s clothing bank.
Louise was a member of the Newburg-Hopewell Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary, and the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by four sons, Larry G. (Diana) Hoover, Orrstown, Leroy J. (Elizabeth) Hoover, Carlisle, Daniel J. (Heather) Hoover, York, and Ray S. (Stephen McGill) Hoover, Derry, PA; five grandchildren, Scott Hoover, Christine Hoover, Aaron Hoover, Matthew Hoover, and Abram Hoover; one great grandson, Tyler Hoover; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Philip G. Hoover, who passed away January 21, 2017; an infant son, Carl Hoover; nine brothers; and six sisters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Newburg United Methodist Church, with Pastor Kevin Brophy officiating. Burial will be in Otterbein Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, at the church.
