Louise M. Commerer, 100, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Monday, July 18, 2022, at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born on October 5, 1921, in Shippensburg, a daughter of the late Albert and Ruth (Hershey) Myers. Louise was a 1939 graduate of Shippensburg Area High School. She married Richard A. Commerer on October 20, 1945. He preceded her in death on January 20, 2016.
Louise was a homemaker throughout her life and also worked alongside her husband on the family dairy farm. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and gardening. Spending time with her family was also important to Louise. She was a member of the Cumberland County Farm Women Group #3 and a lifelong member of the Shippensburg First Church of God.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine A. Dupler and husband James; her son, Robert G. Commerer, Sr., and wife Linda; one granddaughter, Danell Kline and husband Kevin of Shippensburg; two grandsons, Robert G. Commerer, Jr. and wife Maxine of Shippensburg and Brent L. Commerer and wife Amy of Big Piney, WY; eight great grandchildren, Colton Rine and wife Kerstin, Rebecca Kline, Tanner Commerer and wife Ariel, Sarah Moreland and husband Austin; Rebekah Commerer, Grant Commerer, Shane Commerer, and Brooke Commerer; three great great grandchildren, McCoy Moreland, Jameson Commerer, and Tuck Moreland; her sister, Anna M. Wiser; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by her brother, Glenn Myers.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, July 22, 2022, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Tom Myers will officiate. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Friday afternoon at the funeral home.
