Loretta M. Clouse

Loretta Mae Mellinger Clouse, 83, of Shippensburg, departed this life peacefully on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the Shippensburg Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Loretta was born on Friday, March 28, 1941, a daughter of the late Wilbur and Ethel Angle Mellinger. 

She attended the Shippensburg First Church of God.

In her spare time, Loretta loved spending time with her family but also enjoyed traveling and relaxing at home. She had many wonderful experiences vacationing with her family, especially at the shore, which was her relaxation. She loved many country artists, and her favorites were Elvis Presley and Conway Twitty.

Loretta is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Jay Francis Clouse; three daughters, Sheryl Ann (Rick) Chilcote, Debra Sue (Jeff) Gephart, and Tammy Rhea (Lonny) Killian; one son Gregory Alan (Wendi) Clouse, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by a son, Jay Randolph “Randy” Clouse, who passed away March 13, 2024; a granddaughter Nicole Lynn Clouse; and her only sibling brother Wilbur “Butch” Mellinger.

Per Loretta’s wishes there will be no public viewing or visitation. Private burial will be held at the Spring Hill Cemetery at the discretion of the family.
