Lois M. (Devor) Porter, 94, of Walnut Bottom, passed away the evening of Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born on November 21, 1928 in Walnut Bottom, a daughter of the late Samuel and Ruth (Campbell) Devor.
Lois was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Walnut Bottom. She was a 1946 graduate of the Shippensburg High School and retired in November 1987 from HQ DESCOM at Letterkenny Army Depot after 30 years of service. She was a member of AARP, NARFE Chapter 1063, Chambersburg, and Trinity United Methodist Women.
She is survived by three children, Kathleen Ginnick, Cindy (Mike) Adams, and Michael (Kelly) Hopkins; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Aida Hovetter and Carolyn Glass; several nieces and nephews; and two step-daughters and their families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Porter, Sr.; five siblings, Evelyn Kyle, Edna Hovetter, John Devor, Charles Devor, and Rodney Devor; and one step-son, Robert L. Porter, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Trinity United Methodist Church, Walnut Bottom. Rev. Robert E. Stump will officiate. Burial will follow in the Jacksonville Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg.
