Lillian E. Shoemaker, 94, a resident of the Orrstown Personal Care Home, departed this life on the evening of Monday, November 27, 2017.
She was born on December 4, 1922, in Lurgan, a daughter of the late David F. and Janet Sentman Greenawalt.
Lillian was a homemaker throughout her life. She had also worked at the Franklin County Head Start for a number of years. Lillian was a life-long member of the Lurgan United Brethren Church where she taught
Sunday School for over twenty years. In her free time, Lillian enjoyed reading, cooking, and gardening.
She is survived by two sons, Roy E. (Cindy) Shoemaker of Lurgan, and David J. Shoemaker of Fayetteville; one daughter, Debra K. (John) Schetrompf of Needmore; daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Shoemaker of Walnut Bottom; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one sister, Miriam Newell of South Mountain; one brother, Richard Greenawalt of Shippensburg; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Earl F. Shoemaker, who died on May 23, 1997 and one son, Wayne E. Shoemaker.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, December 1, 2017, at the Lurgan United Brethren Church. Pastor Stan McCammon will officiate. Interment will follow in the Lurgan Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
