Lila Richardson

Lila E. Richardson, 85, of Walnut Bottom, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
She was born October 30, 1928 in Newville, Cumberland County. Lila was a daughter of the late Mervin and Crea Hammond Johnson.
She retired from Sprint in Carlisle. Lila was a member of Hays Grove United Methodist Church where she was the Treasurer and Secretary. She was a member of their POLYANNA Club and President of the Women’s Missionary. Lila was a volunteer and member of the Big Spring Senior Citizens Center and Treasurer of AARP # 2525 in Shippensburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh J. Richardson who died April 28, 1989.
Lila is survived by three children, Phillip E. Richardson of Harrisburg, William J. Richardson (Suzanne) of Shippensburg, and Phyllis C. Chastain (John) of Newville, two granddaughters, Saundra Cunningham of Shippensburg, and Crystal Header of Newville, four great grandsons, and one sister, Jean Seavers of Walnut Bottom.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 2, 2014 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg at 11 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Barbara A. Servello. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
