Lieutenant Colonel Dennis Goodling

Dennis Ray Goodling, 71, of Avondale, AZ, formerly of Camp Hill, PA, son of the late Ralph D. and Erma A. Mumma Goodling entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 30, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer, which he fought through with his faith in God.

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his older brothers Ralph D. Gooding, Jr., Howard J. Goodling, and his older sister, Joyce Millis. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Paula Christine Hauk Goodling; his son, Eric Goodling of New Cumberland, PA; his daughter Lisa Goodling Hassenger and her husband Michael of Goodyear, AZ; brother, Larry Goodling and his wife, Jeanne of Florida; four grandchildren, Cameron and Mitchell Goodling and Ethan and Alex Hassenger.

Dennis retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Pennsylvania Air National Guard 193rd Special Operations Wing where he was a Navigator and Plans Officer and was a veteran of various wars including Iraq and Afghanistan. He had previously served in the United States Air Force and was stationed and served in various US cities and throughout the world. Dennis was also very active with the West Shore Elks Lodge #2257 and enjoyed model railroading, fishing, playing golf, was an avid hockey fan, and loved anything to do with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Dennis and Chris recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 5th, 2021, and his love and dedication to his family and friends will live on forever in their hearts.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 20th at the Fogelsanger Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg, PA. A visitation will be held from 10:00-10:30AM with services beginning at 10:30AM with Pastor David Hauk officiating. A graveside service with military honors will immediately follow at the Spring Hill Cemetery in Shippensburg, PA.
