Levi J. Maciejewski

January 18, 2011 — August 20, 2024

Shippensburg

Levi James Maciejewski, child of God and follower of Christ, went to be in the arms of Jesus on August 20, 2024 at the age of 13.

He was born on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 in Chambersburg, a son of Mark S. and Tricia L. (Koons) Maciejewski.

A beloved student at Shippensburg Area Middle School, he was known by many for his infectious smile and big heart. He was an outdoorsman at heart, who loved spending time on the family farm in Punxsutawney.

Levi’s love for sports, especially baseball, football, and golf, reflected not only his amazing athletic abilities, but also his strong work ethic and admirable sportsmanship. He excelled in the Shippensburg Little League, travel baseball, and Shippensburg Midget Football programs and was eager to become a Shippensburg Greyhound. Levi also enjoyed giving back to his community by helping coach both flag football and midget football teams.

In addition to his parents, Mark and Tricia, he was loved by his brother, Brady; maternal grandparents, Terry and Carol Koons of Chambersburg; paternal grandparents Stanley Maciejewski of Punxsutawney and Nancy and Bill Weisenstein of Punxsutawney; aunts and uncles, Lori Ann (David) Long of Hamilton, VA, Lori (Rand Franklin) Maciejewski of San Antonio, TX, and Mike (Beth) Maciejewski of Erie; cousins, Max Riley of Hamilton, VA, Erin Kunselman of Denver, CO, Megan Kunselman of Austin, TX, and Sean Stier of San Antonio, TX; and godparents, Tom and Melissa Fedigan of Punxsutawney.

A celebration of Levi’s extraordinary life will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. in the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center at Shippensburg University with Father Benjamin Dunkelberger officiating. The venue will open to the public at 5:00 p.m.

Stories, photos, messages, and memories can be shared with the family by sending them to levi.j.maciejewski@gmail.com. There will also be keepsake cards in the lobby at the celebration of life for guests to write messages of hope, strength, and encouragement for Mark, Tricia, and Brady to read when they are ready.

In lieu of flowers, the Maciejewskis ask for you to help carry on Levi’s legacy by donating to the Levi Maciejewski Memorial Fund that will be used for projects to provide strength and support for our community. Checks may be made payable to “Levi Maciejewski Memorial Fund” and mailed to F&M Trust, 13 Shippensburg Shopping Center, Shippensburg PA 17257. Go forward and live like Levi!
