Letha E. Leedy, 83, of Shippensburg, died on the morning of Saturday, December 21, 2013, at her home.
She was born on May 20, 1930, in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Oscar and Esther Keefer Myers, Sr. On November 19, 1949, Letha married Mr. Harrison L. Leedy in Hagerstown, MD. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1992.
Letha was employed at a few of Shippensburg’s former garment manufacturers prior to raising her children. She then focused on being a homemaker. She also provided child care to many of her nieces and nephews, which she always loved to do. In her free time, Letha liked to crochet and sew and was a member of the Green Spring Church of God.
She is survived by her son, Gary L. Leedy of Shippensburg; daughter, Jaynee C. Leedy of Shippensburg; six siblings, Arlene (Horace) McDole of Sparta, TN, Thomas (Lenetta) Myers of Shippensburg, J. Jack (Patricia) Myers of Shippensburg, Marie Frey of Carlisle, Betty (James) Graham of Newville, and Rodney (Donna) Myers of Shippensburg; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Letha was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindi E. Leedy, who died on September 2, 1986; and four brothers, Oscar Myers, Jr., Robert Myers, Richard Myers, and Billy Myers.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Philip E. Steele will officiate. Interment will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. Viewing will be one hour prior to the services on Saturday, at the funeral home.
