Leroy G. Grimes, 88, of Shippensburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at his home.
Born Thursday, December 19, 1935 in Carlisle, he was a son of the late John and Stella Davis Grimes.
He was a member of the Lighthouse Worldwide International Church, Newville, PA. Leroy loved and cherished his family, and he was a good Christian Man.
Leroy is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret “Arlene” Danner Grimes, whom he married August 21, 1959; two sons, Perry (Tracy) Grimes, Walnut Bottom, and George (Dawn) Grimes, Shippensburg; two daughters, Christine (Russell) Stine, Carlisle, and Ovetta (Alfred) Sheaffer, Carlisle; seven grandchildren; multiple great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Bill Grimes; one sister, Genevie Shibley; and one granddaughter, Bonni Myers.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Lighthouse Worldwide International Church, 535 Mt. Rock Road, Newville., PA. Officiating will be the Rev. Don Mains. Food and fellowship to follow the service. Burial will be private. There will be no public viewing or visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lighthouse Worldwide International Church, 535 Mt. Rock Road, Newville, PA 17241.
