Leroy W. Coy, Jr. 81, of Shippensburg, formerly of Middletown, died on the evening of March 15, 2013, at the Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born on August 21, 1931, in Shippensburg, a son of the late Wallace and Ethel Ingram Coy. Leroy was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, enlisting on April 1, 1949 and honorably discharged on October 14, 1952. On June 28, 1959, Leroy married Ms. Rosalie A. Long. She preceded him in death on October 1, 2000.
Leroy was a truck driver for over forty years, retiring from Manley Regan Trucking, Co., Middletown, PA. He was a life member of the Middletown Memorial V.F.W. Post #1620, the American Legion Post #594, and the Moose Lodge #410, all of Middletown.
He is survived by his daughter, Joyce (William) Gruver of Shippensburg; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three sisters, Marie (Sonny) Bitner of Shippensburg and Betty (Andy) Evans of Newport and Jean Clugh of Shippensburg; and a step-daughter, Brenda (Edward) Shull of Landisburg.
In addition to his parents and wife, Leroy was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Ray Coy; and his step-mother, Pauline Arnold.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg, with Mr. William L. Gruver officiating. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 6701 Jonestown Rd. Harrisburg, PA 17112. Viewing will be one hour prior to the services on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
