Leroy S. Carbaugh, 86, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at the Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born on June 14, 1929, in Green Spring, Cumberland County, a son of the late David and Alice Mixell Carbaugh.
Earlier in his life, Leroy farmed. He spent the majority of his career working as a carpenter for the former Affiliated Industries, Shippensburg, for over forty years, retiring in 1992. He was a coach for the Shippensburg Area Little League for twenty five years and was always a big fan of Philadelphia’s professional sports teams.
He is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Paul) Coldsmith and Deborah (Thomas) Weaver both of Shippensburg; three sons, Samuel Carbaugh of Hagerstown, Roy Carbaugh of Shippensburg, and Lee Carbaugh of Shippensburg; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; two brothers, David Carbaugh of Shippensburg and William Carbaugh of Newburg; one sister, Betty Eyer of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by his spouse, Betty E. Adams Carbaugh and one brother, Martin Carbaugh.
His funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, April 11, 2016, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor John Pogue will officiate. Viewing will be Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
