Leona Hartman

Leona M. Hartman, 86, of Shippensburg, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at home.

She was born January 26, 1931 in Mt. Union. Leona was a daughter of the late Edward D. and Thelma G. Clevenger McMullen.

She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, Shippensburg where she volunteered at the morning breakfast. Leona retired from the Greif Company. She was a 1949 graduate of the Mt. Union High School and was a member of their Alumni Association. Leona was a member of the Fort Morris Chapter AARP # 3324 and the DNC.

Leona is survived by two sons, David E. (Donna) Hartman of Newburg and Mark T. (Amy) Hartman of Carlisle, one daughter, Rebecca J. (John) Gehres of Shippensburg, seven grandchildren, Shawna (Greg) McMullen, Jennifer (Rodney) Kelso, Corrina (Thomas) Green, Seth (Lindsay) Hartman, Curt Hartman, Amy (Nicolas) Aungst and Amanda Gehres and her fiancé Trenton Gsell, eight great-grandchildren, Lindsay Rhea Schoenfelder, Zachary McMullen, Austin and Alyssa Kelso, Taylor and Colton Green and Madison and Erin Hartman, one great-great grandson, Gavin Schoenfelder, two brothers, Edwin McMullen of Blairs Mills and Carl McMullen of New Castle and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, David H. Hartman whom she married August 21, 1950. A son, Stephan H. Hartman, one brother, Ronald McMullen and two sisters, Patricia Richards and Shirley Suders are also deceased.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Christ United Methodist Church, Shippensburg. Officiating will be Pastor Sandy Kraft. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg and one hour prior to the services at church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Christ United Methodist Church, 47 E. King St., Shippensburg, PA 17257.
