Leila Beckenbaugh

Leila R. Beckenbaugh, 99, of Shippensburg, died on the evening of Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at the Shook Home, Chambersburg.
She was born on April 10, 1913, in Shippensburg, the daughter of the late Merle and Myrtle Swartz Haulter.
On September 19, 1931, Leila married Mr. Earl R. Beckenbaugh in Shippensburg. She then became a homemaker as they started their family together. Earl preceded her in death on October 9, 1964.
Leila was a 1931 graduate of the Shippensburg High School and a long time member of the Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg.
She is survived by one son, Donald R. (Helga) Beckenbaugh of Shippensburg; her daughter, Jean E. (Steven) Stake of Mechanicsburg; daughter-in-law, Betty Beckenbaugh of Shippensburg; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Leila was preceded in death by one son, William R. Beckenbaugh.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Kevin E. Hughes and Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton will officiate. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the services on Saturday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Messiah United Methodist Church at 30 South Penn St. Shippensburg, PA 17257.
