Lawrence D. Gutshall, 90, of Shippensburg, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Shippensburg Health Care Center.
Born Sunday, August 1, 1926 in New Germantown, Perry County, he was a son of the late James R. and Viola A. Beaston Gutshall.
Lawrence was a United States Army Veteran serving in WWII. He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot after 37 years of service where he worked as a sandblaster.
He was a member of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168 Shippensburg. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and in his younger years was an avid hunter.
Lawrence is survived by seven children, Lilian Patsy Schwartz, East Waterford, Anna Louise Lytle, Duncannon, Lawrence D. Gutshall II, Shippensburg, George L. Gutshall, Newville, Richard R. (wife Patty) Gutshall, Sr., Shippensburg, Randy W. (wife Denise) Gutshall, Orrstown and Roger L. (wife Tonia) Gutshall, Edgemoor, SC.; 18 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 2, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc. with the Rev. James O. Bolich officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens with Military Honors conducted by the Shippensburg Veterans Council. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday, in the funeral home.
