Lauretta M. Franklin, 95, a resident of the Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, formerly of Upper Strasburg, went home to heaven on Sunday, September 6, 2015 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born on May 22nd, 1920 on a small farm near Upper Strasburg, PA where she learned to live a simple contented lifestyle. Lauretta was a daughter of the late Norman and Ora Bishop Pugh.
She was a member of the Upper Strasburg Bible Church. Lauretta worked with the Head Start Program in Chambersburg and enjoyed gardening, reading, and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Franklin and a sister, Elsie Carbaugh.
Lauretta is survived by one son, William R. Franklin and his wife Jan of Shippensburg; two daughters, Ruth E. Weyman and her husband Rev. John of Upper Strasburg, and Teresa A. Nelson and her husband Daniel of Stroudsburg; seven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 19th, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Upper Strasburg Bible Church, with James Franklin and Pastor Dwight Munson presiding. Graveside services will follow at the Norland Cemetery.
