Laura H. Stevick, 84, of Newburg, died Saturday, June 1, 2013 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Sunday, March 3, 1929 in Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Elmer E. and Martha Catherine Gruver Harmony.
Laura was a 1947 graduate of the Carlisle Area High School. She was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church, Newburg, where she was Treasurer for numerous years and taught Sunday school for many years. She retired from the former Stanley Company in Chambersburg as a seamstress after 25 years of service.
Surviving are two daughters, Joy A. Gayman and her husband Garnet, of Pleasant Hall and Linda L. George and her husband Larry, of Newburg; two brothers Edward Lee Harmony and his wife Linda, of Chambersburg,and William Gardner of Shippensburg; two sisters, Martha Rexroth and her husband Stanley, of Shippensburg and Vonnie Mowery and her husband Donald, of Newburg; four grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clark B. Stevick who died March 13, 1999, one brother, John Harmony, two sisters, Sarah Harmony and Catherine Rudy.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. Cheryl Houser officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Viewings will be held Wednesday, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral home.
