Larry E. Worthington, Sr., 55, of Shippensburg, died Saturday, December 10, 2011 in the emergency room of the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born April 24, 1956 in Bedford, PA, he was a son of the late Fred C. and Blanche D. Geyer Worthington.
Larry was employed by Dean’s Roofing in Newburg. He was a member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, their Military Marching Unit and the Hub City Club all in Shippensburg. Larry was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp.
Larry is survived by a son, Larry E. Worthington, Jr. of Shippensburg, three grandchildren, Dalton, Jackson, and Brooklynn, three brothers, Fred R. Worthington and his wife Cathy of Carlisle, John W. Worthington and his wife Veronica of Chambersburg, and Barry C. Worthington and his companion Peg of Shippensburg, three sisters, Patricia W. Bard and her husband John of Shippensburg, Nancy L. Stouffer and her husband William of Newville, and Judy D. Roush of Carlisle and her companion, Stephen Powell of Shippensburg.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary L. Worthington.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 19, 2011 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Jan E. Custer and Mr. Dale Clevenger. Graveside military services conducted by the Shippensburg VFW and American Legion Posts will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
