Larry Reed

Larry E. Reed, 75, of Gettysburg, died Monday, December 28, 2015 in the York Hospital.

He was born October 7, 1940 in Chambersburg, PA. Larry was a son of the late Merle and Marie Clippinger Reed.

Larry worked at various auto dealers in the area including; Interstate Ford in Shippensburg, Gene Latta Ford in Hanover, Hal Lowery Ford in Chambersburg. Years ago he worked at Valley Baking Company in Shippensburg and sold insurance for Washington National. Larry was a 1958 graduate of Shippensburg High School. He was a United States Army Veteran and while he was in Germany Larry handled Elvis Presley’s mail. Larry was a Shippensburg Little League and Senior League Coach, First President of the Shippensburg Youth Basketball Program, and was Booster President of Shippensburg Midget Football.

He is survived by his companion of 25 years, Jean Rosensteel of Gettysburg, four children, Gregory B. Reed, Eric E. Reed and his wife Marlyn, Jeremy S. Reed, and Kimberly M. Bard and her husband Rick all of Shippensburg, one brother, Norman Michael Reed of Gaithersburg, MD, one sister, Juanita Moritz of Shippensburg, seven grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service with military honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg.
