Larry L. Martin, 73, of Orrstown, departed this life on the morning of Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at the Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.
Born on October 19, 1943, in Newburg, he was a son of the late Robert M. Martin, Sr. and Sarah J. Rebuck Martin. Larry married Wilma J. Lehman on April 14, 1973 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Chambersburg.
Larry and Wilma operated several local businesses throughout the years; the former Glo-Warm Insulation Company and most recently, Penny Saver Car Care, where he worked as the company’s salesman. He attended the Open Door Church and a member of the Sons of the American Legion at the Burt J. Asper Ameican Legion Post #46, Chambersburg. Larry always enjoyed vacationing at the Maryland Shore where his family has owned a beach house in Ocean City, for the past forty years. He was a big fan of the Washington Redskins and loved spending time with his grandchildren and going out to eat with the family.
In addition to his mother, Sarah, and wife of forty-three years, Wilma, he is survived by three daughters, Dena J. (Nick) Strait of Shippensburg, Heidi J. (Dustin) Green of Chambersburg, and Denise J. Martin of Chambersburg; two sons, Keith A. Carbaugh of Waynesboro and Troy L. (Donna) Carbaugh of Chambersburg; his brother, Robert M. Martin, Jr. of Chambersburg; two sisters, Wilma Rosenberry of Chambersburg and Wanita Gutshall of Shippensburg; granddaughter, Cassidi Martin and twelve additional grandchidren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Larry was preceded in death by a daughter, Darla Janine Martin and two children in infancy, Kathy Lea and Timothy Lynn Martin.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, December 19, 2016, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Mike Sanders will officiate. Interment will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Remembrance Chapel of the new crematorium building.
