Lana Lea Varner, 69, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center, Enola.
She was born on May 18, 1954, in Chambersburg, the daughter of the late Paul M. and Esther G. (Shearer) Rotz and married Jerry S. Varner on May 4, 1989, in Winchester, VA.
Earlier in life, Lana worked at the former R & S Dress Factory in Shippensburg, but for the past twenty-six years, she worked in customer service at DHL in Newville.
She was a member of the auxiliary of the Moose Lodge #2500, Durff-Kuhn V.F.W. Post #6168, and Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223; and was a member of the Minnequa Social Club, all of Shippensburg. Lana enjoyed drawing, spending time with her family and friends, and spoiling her dogs, Ebony and Skyler.
In addition to her husband of thirty-four years, Jerry, she is survived by her son, Tony E. Rotz and wife Nicole of Shippensburg; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Kalea, Nikie, and Justin; ten great grandchildren; a brother, Donald Rotz and wife Carol of Shippensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lana was preceded in death by one brother.
Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. There will be a viewing on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Private interment will be held in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
