L. Edward Rosenberry, 83, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Laurel Lakes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg.
He was born on July 20, 1940, in Carlisle, a son of the late Frederick J. and Betty W. (Crusey) Rosenberry. Ed served in the U.S. Army National Guard, honorably discharged on October 20, 1962.
Early in life, Ed worked at the former Cressler’s Fruit Market, Shippensburg, but for the majority of his working life, he was the co-owner of the former Rosenberry Brother’s Trucking Co.
Ed owned a 1950 Chevrolet Deluxe and was a member of the Cumberland Valley Classic Car Club. He always enjoyed attending car shows and car related events like the Greenvillage Cruise-In. Ed also liked to spend time at and hang out with the members of the South Newton Volunteer Fired Company No. 49. He was also a longtime member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Walnut Bottom.
Ed is survived by two daughters, Noelle C. Murray of Carlisle and Amanda E. Collins and husband Don, II, of Shippensburg; a grandson, Logan A. Collins of Shippensburg; a great grandson, Blake H. Collins of Shippensburg; a brother, Robert L. Rosenberry and wife Beverly of Walnut Bottom; a sister, Susan A. Gross and husband Dale of Shippensburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann (Rotz), who died on January 12, 2007.
A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Ed will be laid to rest the following day, in the Spring Hill Cemetery, during a private graveside service with the Rev. Robert E. Stump officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the South Newton Volunteer Fire Company No. 49.
