Kevin Randall Snider, 61, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Saturday, February 27, 2016, at his home.
He was born on June 4, 1954, in Chambersburg, a son of the late Glen E. Snider and Betty M. Holtry Merriman. Kevin was a 1973 graduate of Shippensburg Area High School and a 1975 graduate of Thaddeus Stevens where he studied masonry.
Kevin spent about twenty-four years working in masonry. In 1997, he became employed with the Pennsylvania Turnpike, working as a Tunnel Guard at the Blue Mountain Tunnel, retiring in 2014, after eighteen years of employment.
He was a member of the Messiah United Methodist Church and the Cumberland Valley Lodge F. & A.M. #315, both of Shippensburg. In his free time, Kevin enjoyed working with his hands around the house on countless home improvement projects, tending to his lawn, woodworking, and masonry. He loved being outdoors and spent plenty of time on his boats fishing, which he enjoyed immensely.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda; his daughter, Carrie A. Snider of Shippensburg; brother, Glen (Linda) Snider of Carlisle; twin-sister, Christine (Richard) Guyer of Shippensburg; sister, Diane (Brian) Berger of Fayetteville; parents-in-law, Richard and Betty Jane Wyrick of Shippensburg; sister-in-law, Pamela (William) Crusey of Alabama; and many other Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many many friends.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. Rev. Dr. Francis H, Norton and Rev. Steve Livermore will officiate. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Masonic Rites taking place at 7:30 p.m.
