Kenneth A. “Ken” Yeatter, 73, of Shippensburg, died on the morning of Thursday, November 21, 2013, at his home.
He was born on April 7, 1940, in Doylesburg, a son of the late Herman H. and Celesta F. Harris Yeatter. Ken was a U.S. Army veteran, inducted on August 13, 1963, honorably discharged from active duty on August 3, 1965, and then honorably discharged from the U.S. Army Reserve on July 31, 1969. A little less than one year later, on July 5, 1970, Ken married Ms. Mary E. Wagner at the Oakville United Methodist Church.
He was employed as a Forklift Mechanic at Exel Logistics, Mechanicsburg, for twenty-five years, retiring in 2006. Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR.
Ken is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary; his son, James S. Yeatter of Shippensburg; granddaughter, Colleen E. Yeatter of New Haven, CT; grandson, Devin S. Yeatter of Shippensburg; three sisters, Hazel Guyer of Chambersburg, Nancy Rider of Mechanicsburg, and Lewese (Mrs. Robert) Peck of Shippensburg; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his brother, Harvey A. Yeatter.
His graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, November 25, 2013, in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Tim George will officiate. A viewing will be held Sunday evening, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg.
