Kenneth Smith

August 31, 1952 — March 1, 2014

Kenneth E. “Ken” Smith, 61, of St. Thomas, went to be with the Lord with his beloved girlfriend, Patty Taylor, by his side, on the evening of March 1, 2014, at the Meritus Hospital, Hagerstown, MD.

He was born on August 31, 1952, in Orrstown, a son of the late Cecil and Hazel Johnson Smith.

Ken worked at the Letterkenny Army Depot, retiring in 2001 after twenty six years of employment. After retirement, he was an owner/operator and trucked for CSX, Chambersburg. In his free time, he enjoyed refurbishing old vehicles, flying model airplanes, riding horses, riding his Harley, and camping and boating with his children. He also enjoyed his little dogs BooBoo and Cally.

He is survived by his son, Scott Smith and his wife Tisha and their daughter, Josi of Las Vegas, NV; his daughter, Hollie Schmid and her husband Peter and their daughter, Addison of Ft. Myers, FL; one brother, James Smith of Upper Darby; four sisters, Patricia Briggs of Upland, Doris Thomas of Shippensburg, Judy Smith of Scotland, and Linda Gelsinger of Chambersburg.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Terry Smith and one sister, Janet Lindsey.

His memorial service will be held at a future date and time. The Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg, has been entrusted with his funeral arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.fogelsanger-brickerfuneralhome.com.
