Kenneth G. Smith, 81, of Shippensburg, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

He was born May 1, 1937 in Waynesboro, PA. Ken was a son of the late Harvey G. and Bertha L. Scott Smith.

He worked for McCune Lumber in Shippensburg for over 20 years and then retired from Moore’s Lumber Yard in Chambersburg. Ken was a lifetime member of the Vigilant Hose Company and a past president of the Shippensburg Fly Fishing Club. He was a 1955 graduate of the former Quincy High School. Ken enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.

He is survived by his wife, P. Gail Harbaugh Smith, one daughter, Stacy R. (Rev. Joseph H.) Thomas of Shippensburg, two grandsons, Derek A. (Heather) Rotz and their children Bradley and Kirstin of Aspers and Brady A. (Chandrelle ) Rotz and their son Preston of Spring Grove, one sister-in-law, Mary Jane Smith of Waynesboro, and one nephew Matthew Smith of Boiling Springs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Smith.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 1 p.m. in the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren with Pastors Brian Markle and Joseph Thomas officiating. A visitation will follow the services in the Family Life Center. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren, 253 East Garfield Street, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
