Kenneth L. Rotz, 63, of Shippensburg, departed this life on Sunday, January 17, 2016, at his home.
He was born on March 25, 1952, in Chambersburg, a son of the late Dana H. and Janice L. Helmuth Rotz. Ken earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in English from Shippensburg University and a Juris Doctor from Pennsylvania State University – Dickinson Law School.
Ken was a self-employed attorney practicing in Municipal Law. He opened his own practice in 2001 and called it Keystate Publishers. Ken was employed by the former Penns Valley Publishers prior to setting out on his own.
He was a member of the Hub City Club, the Minnequa Social Club, and a social member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion, all of Shippensburg. Ken enjoyed watching baseball, from the local Shippensburg leagues and in the major leagues, rooted for the Baltimore Orioles. Being that his law practice was also located at his home, Ken inevitably could be found working a great deal as well.
Ken was the last member of his immediate family. He is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins and in addition to his parents was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Rotz.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Wayne A. Good will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mongul Cemetery. Viewing will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association Franklin/Fulton Division at 610 Community Way Lancaster, PA 17603.
