Kenneth L. Orndorff, 61, of Shippensburg, died Sunday, January 8, 2012 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born November 8, 1950 in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late Roy R., Sr. and Rosella P. Kelley Orndorff.
He retired from the Beistle Company after 31 years of employment and then worked for the Carlisle Area School District’s Custodial Department for 5 years. Ken was a member of the South Mountain Chapel Brethren in Christ Church, the Minnequa Social Club, the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, and the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223 all in Shippensburg.
Ken enjoyed NASCAR, attending church, hunting, grilling, and most outdoor activities.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles E. “Jack” Orndorff, and Roy R. Orndorff, Jr., and one sister, Nancy J. Shew.
He is survived by one daughter, Christinea L. Young and her husband Douglas, three sons, Jeff S. Orndorff, David E. Orndorff, and Richard J. Orndorff and his wife Heather, and one sister, Rose M. McBeth all of Shippensburg, eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 13, 2012 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 2 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. David A. Erisman. Burial will be in Cleversburg Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
