Kenneth E. Boyd, Sr., 49, of Shade Gap, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 16, 2012 in Lurgan Township.
Born Saturday, June 29, 1963 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Ray E Boyd and the late Linda Rae Varner Sprenkle.
Kenneth was a welder by trade and was presently employed at Trafcon Industries Inc., Mechanicsburg, and formerly worked at JLG Industries Inc., McConnellsburg, and Grove-Manitowoc Crane Group, Greencastle, and worked at Breeding Tech, Willow Hill.
He was a member of the Minnequa Social Club and the Hub City Social Club both in Shippensburg, Rock Hill American Legion Post # 0518, Orbisonia and the Locke Valley Home Owners Association. Ken was an avid hunter, NASCAR fan and Philadelphia Eagles fan.
Surviving are his wife of 16 years, Betty J. McCleary Boyd; one son; Kenneth E. Boyd, Jr., of Dover, DE; one daughter; Samantha Wright of Houston, DE; one step daughter; Anna (Lori) Curtis and her husband Achilles of Pleasant Hall; one step son; Brian E. Epperson and his wife Tiffany of Mercersburg; one sister; Toni Fischer and her husband John of Las Vegas, NV; five nieces and nephews; five brother in-laws and five sister in-laws.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Terri Peck and a brother Kelly Sprenkle.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. Thomas Cowan officiating.
Burial will be private. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service in the funeral home.
