Kay Jean Baker, 64, of Orrstown, departed this life on the morning of Thursday, October 28, 2021, at UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle Hospital.
She was born on August 4, 1957, in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Jack W. and Elizabeth (Stuck) Tourney, and married Hank Baker, Jr., on April 11, 1981, at the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren.
In earlier years, Kay worked at the former Peoples Bank in Shippensburg. She spent the majority of her career working as a freight rate specialist at the Letterkenny Army Depot, for thirty-one years, retiring in 2014.
Kay was a member of the Ridge Church of the Brethren. In her younger years she liked to go bowling and she was always on the lookout of a good yard sale. All throughout her life, Kay enjoyed breeding, raising, and caring for her many sheltie’s. In recent years, Kay loved spending as much time as possible with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of forty years, Hank, she is survived by two daughters, Amanda Jean Rudisill and husband Jordan of Shippensburg and Jessica Lee Rife and fiance Jeffery Harris of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, Cameron Rife, Christian Souders, and Sophia Rudisill; and three siblings.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at the Ridge Church of the Brethren, Shippensburg. Pastor Leon Davis will officiate. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewing will be Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at church.
