Kathryn Gilbert

Kathryn E. (Ringer) Gilbert, 38, of West King Street, Shippensburg, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 2, 2013 surrounded by her family and friends after a long battle with cancer.



Born Friday, March 21, 1975 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of Kenneth W. Ringer of Ocala, FL and Cathie F. Buckner Allan of Chambersburg.



Kathryn worked as a (TSS) Therapeutic Support Staff at Spectrum Health and Wellness in Chambersburg, working with children who are handicapped and have special needs. She was a 1993 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Shippensburg University.



Kathryn was a member of the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren along with her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved gardening, reading and her horses.



In addition to her parents, Kathryn is survived by her husband of 11 years, Shawn K. Gilbert, one daughter, LaBella Elizabeth Gilbert, one son, Liaem Garrett Gilbert all of Shippensburg; one brother, Michael R. Ringer, two sisters; Bobbijean Robinson and Tiffany L. Mowery, all of Chambersburg, step mother, Barbara K. Ringer of Ocala, FL., step father, Geoff Allan of Chambersburg; step brother, Matthew A. Clark of Maryland, seven nieces and nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.



Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. Harold E. Yeager officiating. Burial will be private. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
