In 1963, she moved to Shippensburg and opened Kathryn’s Corner Gift Shop for twenty-five years, which was located in her former home, at the intersection of Orange Street and Hollar Avenue, retiring in 1988.

Kathryn was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Quincy. She loved flowers and watching birds, collecting angels and nativities, and the nostalgia of old covered bridges. Kathryn was a loving aunt, who cherished all of her nieces and nephews.
